In Islamabad, the renowned new energy vehicle manufacturer BYD (Build Your Dreams) from China has announced a strategic collaboration with local partner Mega Conglomerate (Private) Limited. This partnership aims to introduce innovative New Energy Vehicle (NEV) solutions in Pakistan, aligning with the country’s goals to reduce carbon emissions and promote energy-efficient transportation.
BYD, recognized for its groundbreaking work in electric vehicle production and surpassing Tesla in 2023 for the highest number of electric vehicles manufactured globally, brings its expertise to Pakistan’s automotive industry.
The collaboration is expected to accelerate the adoption of green products in Pakistan, providing accessible options for consumers and potentially leading to the localization of EV production. This move could position Pakistan as an export hub for right-hand drive (RHD) vehicles, thereby boosting the country’s exports.
The partnership reflects the growing confidence of leading companies in Pakistan’s investment ecosystem, a trend facilitated by the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in recent months.
